Behold, the Lord Comes

The believer in Jesus Christ will never enter 'crisis.'

Behold, the Lord ComesJude 14-15

BEHOLD, THE LORD COMES
JUDE 14-15

The sovereign Lord speaks His message through His human mouthpiece;
HEBREWS 1:1
1 Long ago, at many times and in many ways, God spoke to our fathers by the prophets…

The first prophecy of Enoch;
GENESIS 5:21
21 When Enoch had lived 65 years, he fathered Methuselah…27 Thus all the days of Methuselah were 969 years, and he died.

The Lord’s return is certain;
2 PETER 3:3–4
3 …knowing this first of all, that scoffers will come in the last days with scoffing, following their own sinful desires. 4 They will say, “Where is the promise of his coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all things are continuing as they were from the beginning of creation.”

3 …MATTHEW 23:33
33 You serpents, you brood of vipers, how are you to escape being sentenced to hell?

JOHN 5:29
29 …and come out, those who have done good to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil to the resurrection of judgment.

HEBREWS 10:26–27
26 For if we go on sinning deliberately after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, 27 but a fearful expectation of judgment, and a fury of fire that will consume the adversaries.

MATTHEW 5:22
22 But I say to you that everyone who is angry with his brother will be liable to judgment; whoever insults his brother will be liable to the council; and whoever says, ‘You fool!’ will be liable to the hell of fire.

The Lord’s return is fixed;
ACTS 17:31
31 “…he has fixed a day on which he will judge the world in righteousness by a man whom he has appointed; and of this he has given assurance to all by raising him from the dead.”

The Lord, accompanied by innumerable angels, returns publicly and visibly;
MATTHEW 25:31
31 “When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit on his glorious throne.

MATTHEW 24:30–31
30 Then will appear in heaven the sign of the Son of Man, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 31 And he will send out his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

DEUTERONOMY 33:2
2 He said, “The LORD came from Sinai and dawned from Seir upon us; he shone forth from Mount Paran; he came from the ten thousands of holy ones, with flaming fire at his right hand.

DANIEL 7:10
10 A stream of fire issued and came out from before him; a thousand thousands served him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him; the court sat in judgment, and the books were opened.

ZECHARIAH 14:5
5 …Then the LORD my God will come, and all the holy ones with him.

HEBREWS 12:22
22 But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to innumerable angels in festal gathering,

REVELATION 1:7
7 Behold, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, even those who pierced him, and all tribes of the earth will wail on account of him. Even so. Amen.

The Lord’s return accomplishes a certain purpose;
MATTHEW 25:31–32
31 “When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit on his glorious throne. 32 Before him will be gathered all the nations, and he will separate people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.

The Lord’s return will achieve a certain result;
MATTHEW 25:46
46 “And these will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”

The dominant character trait;
REVELATION 13:5–6
5 And the beast was given a mouth uttering haughty and blasphemous words, and it was allowed to exercise authority for forty-two months. 6 It opened its mouth to utter blasphemies against God, blaspheming his name and his dwelling, that is, those who dwell in heaven.

DANIEL 7:25
25 He shall speak words against the Most High, and shall wear out the saints of the Most High, and shall think to change the times and the law; and they shall be given into his hand for a time, times, and half a time.

2 THESSALONIANS 2:4
4 …[the anti-Christ] opposes and exalts himself against every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, proclaiming himself to be God.

Who will be “judged”;
LUKE 10:14
14 But it will be more bearable in the judgment for Tyre and Sidon than for you.

JOHN 16:8
8 And when he comes, he will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment:

1 TIMOTHY 5:24
24 The sins of some people are conspicuous, going before them to judgment, but the sins of others appear later.

2 PETER 2:4
4 For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but cast them into hell and committed them to chains of gloomy darkness to be kept until the judgment;

HEBREWS 10:27
27 …but a fearful expectation of judgment, and a fury of fire that will consume the adversaries.

The believer will never enter crisis;
JOHN 5:24
24 Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life.

ROMANS 14:10
10 Why do you pass judgment on your brother? Or you, why do you despise your brother? For we will all stand before the judgment seat of God;

2 CORINTHIANS 5:10
10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive what is due for what he has done in the body, whether good or evil.

MATTHEW 27:19
19 Besides, while he was sitting on the judgment seat, his wife sent word to him, “Have nothing to do with that righteous man, for I have suffered much because of him today in a dream.”

JOHN 19:13
13 So when Pilate heard these words, he brought Jesus out and sat down on the judgment seat at a place called The Stone Pavement, and in Aramaic Gabbatha.

ACTS 25:10
10 But Paul said, “I am standing before Caesar’s tribunal, where I ought to be tried…”

Judgement Day for the believer;
ROMANS 8:1
1 There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.

ROMANS 2:6
6 He will render to each one according to his works:

2 TIMOTHY 4:8
8 Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that day, and not only to me but also to all who have loved his appearing.
