According to the Good Pleasure of His Will

Part 1

In choosing us for His family, God has bestowed the greatest of honors upon His children.

According to the Good Pleasure of His Will; Ephesians 1:5b-6 303-0305 PSALM 4:3 3But know that the LORD has set apart the godly for himself; the LORD hears when I call to him. ISAIAH 43:20–21 20The wild beasts will honor me, the jackals and the ostriches, for I give water in the wilderness, rivers in the desert, to give drink to my chosen people, 21the people whom I formed for myself that they might declare my praise. JOHN 1:12 12But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God 1 SAMUEL 18:23 23And Saul’s servants spoke those words in the ears of David. And David said, “Does it seem to you a little thing to become the king’s son-in-law, since I am a poor man and have no reputation?” 1 JOHN 3:2 2Beloved, we are God’s children now, and what we will be has not yet appeared; but we know that when he appears we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he is. JEREMIAH 9:24 24but let him who boasts boast in this, that he understands and knows me, that I am the LORD who practices steadfast love, justice, and righteousness in the earth. For in these things I delight, declares the LORD.” MICAH 7:18 18Who is a God like you, pardoning iniquity and passing over transgression for the remnant of his inheritance? He does not retain his anger forever, because he delights in steadfast love. JEREMIAH 32:41 41I will rejoice in doing them good, and I will plant them in this land in faithfulness, with all my heart and all my soul. ISAIAH 28:21 21For the LORD will rise up as on Mount Perazim; as in the Valley of Gibeon he will be roused; to do his deed—strange is his deed! and to work his work—alien is his work! JOHN 17:10 10All mine are yours, and yours are mine, and I am glorified in them. MATTHEW 3:17 17and behold, a voice from heaven said, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.” JOHN 10:17 17For this reason the Father loves me, because I lay down my life that I may take it up again. ROMANS 8:31–32 31What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things?

Part 2

The dominant aspect of God's character is compassion, and compassion is the root of grace.

The Father's love burns for His Son. In Christ, the Father has that same burning love for us.
